Frixa Olive Oil
Named for the Greek village where creator George Chryssaidis and his olives grew, Frixa sets a high bar for olive oil. George initially came to America in 1981. He lived in New York and North Carolina until settling in St. Augustine in 2001.
George and his Italian wife Paula dreamed of opening a restaurant seaside, so they opened Athena Restaurant just a few blocks from the Atlantic Ocean. Their breakfasts, lunches, and dinners are well received by locals, but the pride of their business is their Frixa Olive Oil, which they use approximately more than 20 liters of each day to cook with. It’s affordable, authentic, unfiltered and made fresh with Koroneiki olives from George’s childhood town of Frixa, Greece.
Frixa Olive Oil is not only the foundation for an exceptional dishes; it’s a lasting gift in honor of George’s family and their Mediterranean roots.
